For taking part in our after season sale.  Our loyal customers purchased many cases of quality fireworks at extremely low prices.  Now:

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Just as we were all trying to adjust to the large price increases for the 2008 season, we have now been advised by our Chinese sources that prices are going up again.  This time they will exceed 35% on FOB prices and this does not even take into account the assumed increases in Ocean Freight and US domestic trucking freight.  The reasons given for the huge price increases were; increasied raw material costs at the factories, increased labor costs, the continued slipping of the US Dollar against the Chinese currency (about 6.3% from January through September 1, 2008), and the increased cost for storing and transporting raw materials and finished products within China - this was due to the closing of all ports except Beihei during the summer because of the Olympics.  The port of Shanghai is now reopened, but the added cost of using the port of Shanghai instead of San Shui (now permanently closed) or Nanhai (now also closed) is approximately 10 to 15% higher. 

This also does not take into consideration that the Chinese Government is taking back the remaining 5% of export taxes that the factories used to receive as a "tax rebate" in years past.  The export tax is 13% and the government used to rebate the entire tax back to the factories each year, which was basically the profit for the factories, but last year they took back 8% and will be taking back the other 5% sometime this year.  The 5% is NOT included in the quotes we have received that average about 36% across the board, so we will have to add another 5% on all items that have not shipped when the 5% rebate is cancelled. 

The days of cheap fireworks from China are over, so we advise our loyal customers to buy now, before the new products start coming in for 2009.  We will hold our 2008 prices in place until the end of the year for all products in stock.  But in January, we must increase our prices to reflect the steep increase in our costs to obtain the fireworks.  We have been looking for other countries to purchase fireworks from, but none seem to have the expertise to make the quality of fireworks that we, and our customers, expect from Patriotic. 

So, buy now and save over 35% on next years estimated prices.
